The Busselton Jetty scooped WA's top tourism gong at the 2019 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards on Saturday evening taking out the Sir David Brand Award for Tourism.
The jetty was recognised for its "continuous innovation and commitment to constant development", after taking out gold in two other categories including WA's Major Tourist Attraction and Ecotourism awards.
Busselton Jetty chief executive officer Lisa Shreeve said they were stoked and there was lots of cheering and screaming at the awards.
"Our visitor numbers over the last year were massive, we had huge increases and lots of other things such as mermaid tours, underwater helmet walks, beach clean up days and tree planting," she said.
"Overall the volume was high and the results were there, customers satisfaction is at 95 per cent. There are lots of people visiting the jetty and a lot more are coming."
There was a record number of entries in the awards this year, with more than 150 WA tourism businesses vying for gold, silver and bronze medals across 31 award categories.
CinefestOZ received gold in the Festivals and Events category ahead of the Busselton Jetty Swim which was awarded silver.
It was the second year in a row CinefestOZ has taken home this award.
CinefestOZ chair Helen Shervington said the festival had become an important state cultural asset and a spectacular event in the nation's events calendar.
"This festival is beloved by the Australian film industry and audiences alike," she said.
"Its unique, intimate style, focused on Australian film and location in the magnificent South West makes it a very attractive tourism and cultural offering."
In 2019, the five-day festival exceeded expectations by achieving record attendances of 30,140 and more than 200 films, screenings and events.
The Busselton Jetty Swim was recognised for its grassroots beginnings and constant growth to be one of WA's largest open water swims.
Busselton Jetty Swim founder Max Higgins said the success of the swim was a result of community support over many years.
"What started out as a simple concept of swimming around the jetty has grown way past any of our expectations," he said.
Pullman Bunker Bay Resort received gold in the Business Event Venues and Luxury Accommodation categories. Cape to Cape Explorer Tours received bronze in the Ecotourism category.
Vasse Virgin received silver in the Specialised Tourism Services and the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association received silver in Visitor Information Services.
