A push to revive Busselton's live music scene is gaining momentum with Albies Bar and Bistro manager Jason McLachlan hoping to bring some of Australia's top bands to the seaside town.
Mr McLachlan has been living in Busselton for the past eight months, he has lived in eight countries as well as, Broome and Margaret River where he managed live music venues.
He is hoping to attract some of Australia's most loved bands to visit Busselton when they tour the South-West and WA.
"That is exactly what we want to do single-handedly - bring Busselton's live music scene back to life," he said.
"We are starting off lightly with an INXS tribute show, which is something everybody knows.
"From there we will have another live show and then we will incorporate local acts as support bands.
"The whole point is we want to help local musicians - bands are always going to Margaret River - there is no reason why on the way there or on the way back they could not stop in Busselton.
"I have popped in and seen a couple of the venues in Bunbury to see their setup and wondered why bands would not come here."
Mr McLachlan said they would refurbish the Albies' bistro area to cater for live music and larger crowds.
"While Busselton may seem a little dull at night time, it is probably better than it has been and is slowly getting some diversity.
"Darleen's is a good thing and an indicator of the vibrancy and diversity that will come from the night scene.
"We are striving to be a little bit different."
