Major Spoilt had his biggest career win when leading all the way at Gloucester Park on Friday night. Trained by Chris Beckett and driven by son Aaron the seven-year-old gelding by Art Major was sent out a solid favourite at $2.35. Drawing barrier 1 the former Busselton Community Cup winner looked a good bet from the pole position and showing early gate speed Major Spoilt and Aaron had a solid advantage throughout.
With some cheap quarters the talented little horse looked hard to run down and even though second favourite Oneonthewood had the perfect run Major Spoilt held his rivals at bay winning by three metres, it was a well deserved success for the family and connections. Chris tried to get the training double on Bunbury Cup night with Torpedo Rock. After a really good effort on Monday at Pinjarra when he finished second at 25 to 1 he backed up again on Saturday and from barrier 2 he was sent out favourite but after showing some speed he was crossed early and even though having a good run he was no match for Cyclone Jim who raced out of this world to defeat him.
