The men's Professional Championship fours has recently been decided at the Dunsborough Bowling Club.
Fancied teams were ceremoniously beaten by unheralded teams in the first round which made this championship extremely interesting.
Maintaining their good forms, teams skipped by Bill Hitsert and Terry South were persistent with their giant killings on day one and went into the championship final on day two, facing each other.
The Hitsert team came out of the starting blocks quickly and it became a catch-up situation the rest of the game for South's Butch Sharpe, Ben Tas and Clive Williams. South's team struggled to keep contact throughout the match with Hitsert. Bowls they drew were quickly dispatched by their opponents who would not allow an opening. In the closing stages it was obvious the deficit was too great and the final end was yielded.
South conceded that the "opposition had an admirable start which proved too much for us and they were far too good on the day".
