Estelle and Lindsay Perry sponsored the ladies triples championship which has just been finalised at the Dunsborough Bowling Club. Appreciation is given for the sponsorship which has lasted over a decade.
Coming in fresh off winning the ladies fours championship two weeks ago, Jean Kelly and May Armstrong invited Denise Mott to join them and cleaned up with five wins and 15 points. The Kelly gang had a great competition and only lost one game over the three-day event. Runners-up Maureen Hines, Chris Coyle and Wendy Collins also lost one game and that to the Kelly gang but lost the competition on shots up. Wendy Collins was asked to play in that team at the last moment as a substitute and played very well for her first taste of runners-up in a championship.
Two novices, Julie Nichols and Maree Unger were also invited to play in teams skipped by Pat Manton and Daisy Grist to give them the opportunity to put a tough competition under their belt before they face off in their own novice championship event in a few weeks.
