Busselton's Veteran Car Club members donned everything from feather boas to bell-bottom pants and fringe jackets to celebrate the official opening of its new venue on Causeway Road.
The event followed day two of the club's annual January rally on Sunday morning, January 26, which drew people from across the state and saw more than 70 classic cars take to the road.
The three-day rally, which has fast become a highlight of the local motoring calendar, has been running for more than three decades.
Since its inception in 1967, Busselton's Veteran Car Club has accumulated more than 180 members, making it the second largest sub branch outside the Perth metropolitan area.
Club president Tony Griffiths said he believed the new venue would inspire even more people to join the all-inclusive club and stressed that owning a classic vehicle was not a prerequisite for joining.
"I think the new club rooms will inspire a lot more people to come along, too, which is brilliant," he said.
"This is the first event we've held here and it has been an absolute success and we've been blown away.
"Now, we're looking forward to bigger and better things.
"We were really sad to leave the old club rooms on Marine Terrace, and a lot of the older members of the club were sad to see us move.
"But I think now, without exception, now that they've seen the new club rooms and what it has to offer, they're all in favour of it."
City of Busselton mayor Grant Henley said he was most impressed with the new building and praised the committee, the club's members and City of Busselton staff for their role in making the transition to the new venue a success.
"I'm very impressed with the new building and think you've done very well to value-manage the budget.
"It's a great outcome. You've got a great spot here with great visibility on the way into town here and a lot of parking space."
Vasse MLA and patron of the club Libby Mettam echoed Mr Henley's sentiments and said the club certainly had a lot to celebrate.
"There is plenty to celebrate tonight, not only because it is Australia Day, but also because of how far the Veteran Car Club has come," she said.
"What a fantastic facility this is.
"You play such an important role, both in the WA chapter and in the City of Busselton."
The pair later joined state president Terry Duke in unveiling a plaque to commemorate the official opening of the new club rooms.
Following the opening, Mr Griffiths said the club would now turn its attention to the appointment of a new committee in April and continuing to support and promote the City of Busselton.
