It was a big weekend for the Busselton Blazers' under 12, division 3 team as they became grand final winners at the 2020 Country Championships in Perth.
The eventful trip started On February 8 and 9 off with their hotel's fire alarm going off at 12 midnight, the night before competition began, with some of the girls and coach Dave being evacuated onto the street.
The disrupted sleep didn't impact the girls' talents as they comfortably won all six matches.
It was getting to the end of a tiring day when the Busselton team had to dig deep and play Narrogin in the grand final.
It was a nail-biter of a match with the Busselton girls fighting their way through to win by a point.
The team thanked their coach Dave and said " We couldn't of done it without you. A huge thank-you for your time, dedication, energy and support throughout this season."
