Dunsborough's Clean Up group is calling for volunteers to take part in this year's Clean Up Australia Day event on Sunday, March 8.
Coordinator Ralph Upton, who has spearheaded the local event for more than a decade, said the clean up would target roadside litter across Dunsborough, Quindalup and Yallingup - with a special focus on Caves Road.
Mr Upton said the clean up had attracted more than 100 volunteers in the past, collecting up to 300 rubbish bags worth of litter, and encouraged locals to get involved and help keep the area pristine.
"There is a lot more litter on the road side," he said.
"In the past, we have found things like dirty nappies, empty stubbies, cans, coffee cups and even money.
"It's important we keep our area nice, clean and tidy and appealing for tourists to visit."
The national clean up was established more than 30 years ago and has since become Australia's biggest community-based environmental event.
In that time, more than 17 million Australians have donated an estimated 35 million hours and collected more than 365,000 ute loads of rubbish.
The clean up will take place from 7am until 9am.
