A 22-year-old Busselton man has been charged over a jet ski incident late last year that saw a 14-year-old boy injured and caused approximately $22,000 in damage.
According to Dunsborough Police, the man was allegedly riding a jet ski in a reckless manner on Geographe Bay between Castle Rock and Old Dunsborough boat ramp about 6.45pm on December 12, 2019, which resulted in a bystander receiving an injury to his hand.
The incident is understood to have ended with a dramatic citizens arrest, with several people reportedly jumping into the water and removed the keys from the jet ski to stop the alleged offender.
The charges were laid following a joint investigation by the state's Police Force and the Department of Transport, with the Busselton man charged with Acts Likely to Endanger Life, Health or Safety of a Person.
The man is due to appear before the Busselton Magistrates Court on April 7.
