A Dunsborough resident is holding a peaceful protest on Saturday in support of the Black Lives Matter and Indigenous Lives Matter movements.
Georgia Beardman said she was heartbroken watching scenes of unrest in the USA.
"I just see pain and anguish and a complete militarisation, I cannot believe they way they are meeting these protests," she said.
"I had posted a lot of things on social media and it did not feel like enough, it felt safe and behind closed doors like it was not agitating too many things.
"I thought if I was just a quiet person sitting in a park that it might not evoke so much rage so I am organising a peaceful protest."
Ms Beardman said her motivation was a different because it was not a call out for black or Aboriginal people to march.
"It is actually about white people getting off their butts and saying no to racism and the abhorrent treatment by people in power towards minority groups," she said.
"It should not be up to oppressed people to challenge the oppressors, any kind of meaningful change can only be enacted if the people better fitted in the system start to challenge the system."
Ms Beardman said if people would like to join her they are welcome to meet at Lions Park in Dunsborough at 2pm on Saturday June 6, she will be sitting in the park with a sign and hopes that people will sit with her.
"It is just about gathering and visually showing that we care," she said.
