If you are a man who likes to sing in the shower, or anywhere really, the Busselton Choral Society would like to invite you to their male singing workshops throughout the month of July.
Busselton Choral Society president Brenda Fandry said the workshops are free and would be run by Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts graduate and conductor Marnie Fulton.
"All the workshops will be free, and are being sponsored by Busselton Choral Society," she said.
"Our current basses will be on hand to mentor new singers and offer support. We usually sing from music, but there are other ways to learn for those of you not comfortable with that.
"Give it a go."
Busselton Choral Society conductor Ms Fulton said the idea to have a men's only month in July came about through the pandemic and loss of Bill Cole who passed away earlier this year.
"Bill was the director of our choir and had been singing in our choir up until recently, he held the men's section together which has always been very small," she said.
"Our new president Brenda is really passionate about seeing the choir continue and get stronger so she suggested having a men's only rehearsal just before the choir all got together each week.
"We will be starting a bit earlier to just get the men together so they can listen to one another and build their confidence singing together.
"It is a free trial so people don't need to commit they can just come along and try it.
"I'm really hoping we can tackle a song from the Hobbit movie Misty Mountain which the dwarves sang. It is a beautiful, moving and manly song."
The workshops will be held on Thursday nights throughout July starting at 7.15pm on July 9, 2020 at the Busselton RSL.
