City of Busselton councillors voted unanimously in favour of subleasing land on the Busselton Foreshore precinct to make way for a Hilton hotel development.
Councillors supported the officer's recommendation to seek a lease from the state of WA at a cost of $1,000 per year.
If consent is given by the Minister for Planning, Lands and Heritage's the city will enter into arrangement to facilitate the development of a 110-room 4 star Hilton Garden Inn with Pacifica Ausglobal Busselton Pty Ltd.
Once complete the hotel will include luxury short stay accommodation, meeting and board room facilities, a north facing rooftop function room with a viewing deck and food and beverage facilities.
It will be the first four-star hotel within Busselton's city centre, which is expected to cater for business and leisure accommodation.
