Twelve-year old Amber Knight has cut her long locks to raise money for the Worlds Greatest Shave and support the Leukemia Foundation.
Amber's nanna lost her hair through chemotherapy in 2014 when she decided to grow her hair longer so she could donate it for wigs.
As an added extra Amber also wanted to fundraise too, so she joined the Worlds Greatest Shave and made scrunchies and sleep masks to sell.
Amber said she wanted to take part in this important cause because she has known people with cancer and this was the only way she knew how to help.
"My aim is to raise as much as possible for the Worlds Greatest Shave and I've been growing my hair extra long to be able to donate it to make wigs for those who have had chemotherapy and lost their hair," she said.
"I was able to donate 40-45 centimetre length hair. To help with fundraising I made hair scrunchies and sleep masks and sold them for $2 and $3 respectively, raising over $100.
"The big chop took place on July 24, at my school assembly. My Mum, brother, nanna and I all cut a ponytail each and the lovely Kate Zecca cut the rest and cut my new do which I'm loving."
"My fundraising page is still open for anyone who would like to donate please visit my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/amberknight1."
