Young performers across the South West are being called to take part in a new competition set to kick off at the Sea Garden Cafe in Prevelly.

Budding musicians, poets, stand up comedians, thespians, dancers and magicians aged between 6 and 17 years can enter the seven-week competition, as part of a band, group or as a solo act.

On Saturday afternoons between 3pm and 5.30pm, performers in two divisions - Saplings (13 - 17 years) and Sprouts (6 - 12 years) - have a maximum of 10 minutes on stage to demonstrate their talents.

Patrons can cast their votes during the afternoon, with votes tallied to send the winners of each heat to the quarterfinal on September 12.

Semifinals will be held on September 19, before a grand final event on September 26 where the winners of each division will share in $1400 worth of prizes.
