It was the perfect day to be at splashing about Meelup for the Leavers WA Beach Day celebrating the end of school for the graduating 2020 cohort.
DJ's, floaties and food vans kept the crowd entertained throughout the day, under the watchful eye of scores of volunteers and police who were there to make sure the school leavers had a great and safe time.
WA is the only place in Australia where an official event is taking place for leavers this year as the pandemic halted travelling interstate and overseas to other schoolie destinations such as the Gold Coast and Bali.
A record number of 9,000 school leavers are in Dunsborough and Busselton for the four-day event which ends on November 26, 2020.
