Christmas came early to Busselton Tennis club when they held their Xmas Gala Day play and stay BBQ on Saturday December 19 in true winning style.
Played in perfect summer tennis conditions over 55 members and visitors enjoyed the privilege of playing afternoon social tennis on top quality grass court prepped for the final 2020 calendar event.
Members donned anything and everything red, green, or sparkly to join in the jovial club Christmas spirit and break the COVID blues.
Reputable long time club member Jack Knudson, known for his many previous outlandish, (bordering on the risqué) Santa outfits presented on court disguised as a surprisingly respectable elf along-side the colourfully stylish elf Vanessa Scott.
It was also great to see life member Laurie Basten in action and the Santa smiling Colin Miller back on the courts after a lengthy period.
Miller only recognisable by his familiar arm, wrist and knee braces, oh! And that beaming smile, ho! ho! ho!
Busselton Tennis Club Social Coordinator Merryl Peet made sure that the festivities carried on after the conclusion of the final round of tennis to include a special BBQ sunset evening, tastefully trimmed with member donated mixed salads and Christmas style deserts.
Santa background music, specific quick quiz questions, Xmas raffles and cool bar refreshments topped off the 'Tennis by The Bay' calendar year in true festive spirit.
