NANNUP trail blazer Emma Bresser will be the only female to represent the Busselton-Margaret River Cricket Association at Women's Country Week this year.
Bresser has played 87 matches for Nannup in the BMRCA and is enjoying her best success this season, where she has taken 14 wickets as a legspinner in club cricket, including eight in the first two games of the summer.
As Busselton-Margaret River does not have its own women's team, Bresser is looking to join a team such as Esperance or Kalgoorlie in order to be a part of the inaugural Women's Country Week at Geraldton, which starts on January 25.
Women's Country Week will be held in Geraldton in 2021 and 2022, and the South West is looking forward to hosting the event in 2023, with games set to be played in Bunbury and Busselton.
Bresser is already experienced at representing the WA Country XI Women's team at two interstate carnivals in Victoria and Queensland, where she has played alongside Cowaramup's Hannah Biddulph.
In addition, Bresser has also played B-Grade for Peel and one game for the Midland-Guildford team in the Perth women's premier league.
"It's great to see the WACA acknowledging women's cricket and I am really looking forward to the experience of playing alongside the other women in the competition," said Bresser.
