Tourism

Mark McGowan has today announced a $20 million Aboriginal Tourism Fund to make Western Australia the premier destination for Aboriginal tourism in the country.

Government will continue its support to get the flights underway.
Logging native forests
WA Labor has a proven track record when it comes to protecting our native south-west forests.
In 2001, under the Gallop Labor Government, Western Australia became the first state in Australia to cease harvesting in old-growth forest.
The McGowan Government inherited Colin Barnett's Forest Management Plan and has been bound to honour the commitments and contracts signed under it up until 2023.
Preparation of the next Plan will commence later this year.
Under a McGowan Labor Government, the next 10-year FMP will be based on science and will prioritise the long-term health of our forests.
Household costs
For the first time in history, every Western Australian household has received a one-off $600 credit on their residential electricity bill under the McGowan Government.
The Household Electricity Credit is expected to provide the average WA household around four months of relief from having to pay their electricity accounts.
A re-elected McGowan Labor Government will increase the Patient Assisted Travel Scheme subsidy to reduce costs for people who need to travel to Perth for medical treatment.
Vasse River
Last year the McGowan Government announced the $25 million Healthy Estuaries WA, working to reduce nutrient inputs and improve estuary management in the Vasse-Geographe waterways over coming years.
Mental health
A re-elected McGowan Labor Government will deliver a $361.6 million funding boost to address critical gaps in the mental health system right across WA.
Education
WA Labor has pledged $1.2 million for Busselton Senior High School and $500,000 for Cape Naturaliste College to provide STEM classrooms at both schools, and will guarantee that every single public school student in Vasse receives a STEM education to teach our kids the skills of the future.
I have also secured a commitment to upgrade the Dunsborough Primary School undercover area.
Coastal erosion
Last month the McGowan Government made available $4 million in coastal management grants, including up to $300,000 for projects to adapt to coastal hazards. It builds on the more than $200,000 invested last year into coastal management planning grants in the South West.
Job growth
Mark McGowan has released the WA Jobs Plan, a re-elected McGowan Labor Government's plan to create 125,000 new jobs in industries including tourism, manufacturing, green jobs, agriculture, aquaculture, the film industry and new and emerging technologies.
