The Rainbow Dog Walk returns on March 6 to raise money for the much loved community organisation Busselton Hospice Care Inc.
The event is held by Busselton Pride Alliance Inc, a not-for-profit community group which works to improve health comes of LGBTQIA+ people living in the South West.
Event organiser Yvonne Innes said it was the second Rainbow Dog Walk that Busselton Pride Alliance Inc has held for BHCI.
"Most people love dogs and a lot of people have had an association with palliative care," she said.
"It is a very worthy cause and we want to maintain the level of support and palliative care in the community.
"It is a fun bright way to incorporate the whole family to have a fun morning out, win some prizes and raise some funds for Busselton Hospice Care Inc at the same time."
Busselton Hospice Care Inc bereavement support coordinator Leanne O'Shea said the Rainbow Dog Walk meant a lot to them because it allowed their organisation to keep going.
"The work we do in community for community members who are at the end of their life and for grief and bereavement, without support we would not be able to continue," she said.
"It is such important work that we do and work that is very much needed in our community so that we can develop a compassionate community."
It is $15 to register your dog or $20 for people with two dogs, prizes will be awarded after the walk for the best dressed dog and the best dressed owner.
Ms Innes said there would also be prizes for musical sits, the best dancing dog and the dog that can do the best tricks.
People can register for the event online at trybooking.com/BOHBA or register on the morning of the walk from 8.30am at Signal Park.
The two kilometre walk starts at 9am with participants walking along the foreshore to Busselton Marine Rescue and back.
