Wests Tigers have snapped up former South Sydney forward Tom Amone for the 2021 NRL season.
The 24-year-old Australian Schoolboy and Junior Kiwis representative played nine senior games for the Rabbitohs over the last two campaigns, the most recent coming in a 40-12 round-six win over the Warriors in June 2020.
He was one of seven players de-listed by South Sydney in November last year.
"Tom has shown he has what it takes to make it at the NRL level so we're very pleased to have secured his services for the season ahead," West Tigers coach Michael Maguire said.
"Having overcome some adversity, Tom has worked hard to be ready for the season ahead and I'm looking forward to him adding further to our forward pack this year."
Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said the barnstorming Amone would be a strong addition as the club look to improve on their 11th-place finish last time out.
"Tom's experience and capabilities at the NRL level make him an excellent addition to our squad at this point of the year and we're delighted to welcome him on board," Pascoe said.
"Tom has shown an enthusiasm and desire to contribute at this club right away and we're looking forward to watching him do that in the year ahead."
Amone will begin training with the squad this week ahead of Wests Tigers' season opener against the Raiders in Canberra on March 14.
