Three talented students from Busselton were selected to move onto the next round of the Lions Youth of the Year competition.
Lions Youth of the Year aims to encourage student interest in leadership and the qualities required to take an active role in the community.
This year Lucy Mansfield (Busselton Senior High School), Harrison Bowden (Georgina Molloy Anglican School) and Josh Wittwear (Cornerstone Christian College) took out the prestigious competition which will see them compete at a district level.
The students were recognised for their achievements in and out of school, as well as, their public speaking ability.
Three winners from the district competition will move onto the state and if successful, will see them compete at a national level.
In 2019, Mr Bowden's sister Hannah was the Australia's overall Lion Youth of the Year. Past winners of the event include Kevin Rudd, former Queensland premier Peter Beattie and Senator Simon Birmingham.
