Thirty-five competitors took part in Saturday's Round 3 competition at Yallingup.
It was reasonably challenging conditions proving to be a winner with club members including a number of new members eager to sign up on the day to take part.
Competitors experienced varying wave conditions, with mostly near perfect waves allowing surfers to showcase their skills for the benefit of a large gallery of supporters and onlookers.
The event was sponsored by Dunsborough Lakes Golf Club and a new sponsor in Ocean & Earth WA.
Presentations were held at the Dunsborough Lakes Golf Club with well over 45 members, partners, family and friends coming together for the social event.
First place winner was newly elected club Vice President Claire Edwards, second place went to Robin Somogyvari and Daniel Holding in third place.
Other placegetters were: Paul Burke in fourth, Ryan Clarke in fifth and Bill Gibson in sixth.
Newly elected president Graeme Gibson noted the higher level of participation in 2021 was a reflection in the growing interest of the sport.
Particularly with younger men and most notably younger women, which was a focus for the club after its success Girl Glides event in March, Mr Gibson said.
Mr Gibson also encouraged members to support the community through the upcoming "Ride the Waves for Motor Neurone Disease" charity golf day on May 15 at Dunsborough Lakes Golf Club.
The day is being championed by club friend and surfing judging stalwart Geoff Oddy.
Round 4 is scheduled to take place at Yallingup on Saturday September 18.
Conditions have been superb for the Margaret River Pro with local Bronte Macaulay defeating Caroline Marks to a book a spot in the quarterfinals.
The Margaret River Official forecast predicts Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will all likely be off days for the competition.
The mens competition has only reached round of 16 with locals Jack Robinson and Jacob Wilcox already eliminated.
