Swap N Raise returns to boost much needed funds for the Radiance Network South West, a community organisation that connects parents to local services that support emotional well-being during early parenthood.
Now in its seventh year, Swap N Raise is a fundraising event with a difference.
Community members are asked to donate up to 10 items of quality clothing, receiving a voucher in return to use at the event shop on the day.
The event provides guests the chance to come together, shop, enjoy live entertainment, take part in the live and silent auctions, and have a great day out for a good cause.
Event organiser CJ Heins said it has been fantastic to see the event grow and evolve each year.
"This year we are expecting more than 150 guests and we have set our fundraising goals high," she said.
All funds raised through the event are directed to provide a much-needed boost to services provided by the Radiance Network South West.
Coordinator Anne Mackay said the Radiance Network was the only service in the region that ran support groups for mum's with perinatal depression and anxiety.
"It relies heavily on fundraising, small grants, and help from local agencies," she said.
"We get all the referrals from the mother and baby units at Fiona Stanley Hospital and King Edward Memorial Hospital.
"The social workers from the unit are contacting Radiance to support these mum's in the community and we simply can't offer this support without community-based fundraising initiatives like Swap N Raise."
Ms Heins added that they could not achieve their fundraising targets without the support of the local business community.
"Year after year they show up and commit a variety of items ranging from accommodation stays, photography packages, dining experiences, wine, vouchers, spa experiences, artwork and so much more," she said.
"This allows us to run a live auction on the day for the larger items as well as a silent auction and a raffle with some amazing prize bundles for our guests to bid on.
"It's such a fun and exciting part of the day and more importantly a large component of our fundraising efforts."
Tickets to the event are $30 which includes canapes and a few other items thanks to Eagle Bay Brewing Co. and Goanna Gallery Catering.
The event is being held at Solitaire Homestead from 11am until 4pm on Saturday, May 29, 2021, tickets can be purchased from eventbrite.com/e/swap-n-raise-2021-tickets-147049381659.
