The Dunsborough Sharks year 11 and 12 completed a perfect 2021 season after going undefeated and taking out the South West Junior Football Grand Final on Saturday September 11.
Playing Busselton White, the Sharks entered the game as hot favourites but were put under early pressure.
A determined Busselton gained control in the centre and made the most of early opportunities to be in the game at halftime.
Dunsborough settled in the second half shaking off early nerves to run out winners 11.7.73 to 6.3.39.
Indiana Hill was awarded best on ground by the umpires, capping off a successful year by also sharing the SWJFL Regan Burton Memorial Award for Fairest & Best Year 11/12 with Busselton White's Sean Aora.
Dunsborough Sharks coach Paul Dean was full of praise for his team and that everyone "playing their role" was behind the team's success.
"Most of these boys have been playing together since AUSKICK in primary school," he said.
"Despite going off to different high schools they have stayed together. Wanting to play football with their mates has been behind their success as a team."
In a bid to keep the boys together as they go up into the colts division, the Dunsborough Sharks Football Club have lodged an application to field a colts, reserves and women's team in the South West Football League.
If the club is successful it hopes to field a league team by 2024.
The Dunsborough Sharks plan to continue to wear blue and white.
The South West Football League council will meet in October and will decide on if they will include Dunsborough within the league.
