About myself
I am a new resident of Dunsborough and moved from Perth just three days before Christmas last year, and even through all the stress of moving, it was the best decision and I love it here.
I made a lifestyle change to work more closely with clients in the South West through my business in strategic planning and community engagement.
Some of these clients are local and state government, so I have a strong understanding of the machinations of government, which is very beneficial for an elected member.
Motivation
It's important to me to be part of the community, so I joined the Dunsborough Yallingup Chamber of Commerce and found myself nominating for president at the annual general meeting in June.
This is incredibly rewarding and has exposed me to many of the challenges small businesses experience in the region and that we need to help local businesses develop and prosper.
Small business owners are inspiring, and they've motivated me to ensure the local community is given much more consideration and opportunity in the economic decisions made by the City of Busselton and the council. I'm considered a change maker and a go-getter and I know I can be a strong voice for the community.
Needs addressing
With so much development being undertaken, I'd like more jobs to be available for locals and for local businesses to be given first opportunity to apply for small projects plus equal opportunity for larger projects.
Our greatest assets are our community and I want to ensure we're always proudly supporting and buying local.
In my spare time
On my time off I visit wineries, cafes, restaurants and galleries, and play tourist with the many family and friends that visit me.
I love the vibrancy and diversity of all the sport and art events across Busselton, there's always something exciting to do.
