After an unbeaten season from the Geographe Bay Football Club came away with the Division 1 South West Cup.
It was a strange way to win the cup, with no balls kicked in anger as the opposition Manjimup got the kick-off times wrong by two hours.
Manjimup had to forfeit the match, which left a strange feeling of a win that felt somewhat empty but well deserved after such a successful season with hope of promotion to Reserve League for the 2022 season.
A special mention goes to coach Gary Mayers who had the whole squad finely tuned all the way through the season.
It was the way Mayers kept the holes filled when needed and the lads motivated in close games that kept the spine of the playing group on point.
Geographe Bay Football Club are looking forward to getting some new youthful faces down for preseason next year to tackle a new exciting challenge in the 2022 season and bring home even more trophies after winning three Cups this year.
In the Leeuwin Naturaliste Junior Soccer Association the under 17s boys country team played the State School boys under 16s on September 15.
Coach Stu Farmer said it was great preparation for Country Week 2021 where the first game will be against Albany.
"We were really competitive against a really good side. We were unlucky not to score a few goals," he said.
Leeuwin Cape Naturaliste community participation officer Juan Bautista Propato said the team were going in the right direction.
"We were competitive for 90 minutes and our coaching staff did an amazing job to prepare for the game," he said.
