Over 25 community ideas have been received in response to the City of Busselton's new You Choose community funding program which closed on November 8.
You Choose offers a total of $100,000 in smaller grants of up to $20,000 for community led projects or initiatives that help improve your neighbourhood, or the broader community neighbourhood.
They will now go through a simple assessment process to ensure they are legal, safe and achievable, ready for the broader community to consider how they would like to allocate the $100,000 funding pool when the You Choose voting opens on January 21.
"It's great to see how well the community has embraced this new initiative," Mayor Grant Henley said.
"The City has received a great mix of submissions and no two are alike, demonstrating how many innovative ideas there are.
"I would encourage everyone in our community to take part in choosing the successful projects when voting opens for four weeks on January 21.
You Choose is a pilot program to provide the community with an opportunity to participate in the allocation of a part of the City's budget using an on-line budgeting tool.
