WA's female triathlete of the year and Margaret River local Felicity Sheedy Ryan has been announced as a 2022 Busselton Jetty Swim Ambassador.
Ryan is a two time World Champion in Duathlon in 2012 and 2017 and won bronze in the event in 2010.
Ryan has represented Australia multiple times in Triathlon at World Championships at all distances, including Sprint, Olympic Distance, Relay, Duathlon and Half Ironman.
She has also mixed it up racing overseas for a French team in the French Grand Prix League and qualified for the new hotly contested Super League Triathlon Finals.
Closer to home Ryan has gained numerous elite national and state triathlon and running titles across a variety of distances.
She was twice runner up at Australia's largest triathlon, the Noosa Triathlon; and her biggest success in her home state is winning the Busselton 70.3 Ironman four times, and once placing second, making her the most successful triathlete at the Busselton 70.3 Ironman.
Ryan said she felt connected to the area, spending large amounts of time training close to her family in the South West.
"My love for this area, and our beautiful beaches, combined with the fact that Busselton has played such an important part in my career, being one of my favourite races and venues, means that Busselton really holds a special place in my heart," she said.
