The mixed pairs championships at Dunsborough and Districts Bowling Club finished with a "mission impossible" celebration for Maureen Hines and partner Mick Finney.
The team played against Terry South and Pat Manton to end two days of bowls.
Both teams had out-lasted strong competition in the semi-finals and spectators were looking forward to a close game.
The South team hit the straps first and kept up their game to lead 12-3 on the eighth of 14 ends.
Despite it looking like the end for team Hines, the duo accepted the mission impossible assignment and scored eight points over the next two ends.
Now an entirely new ball game, team South found themselves on the back foot and fighting for a win.
Touches became contagious amongst all bowlers over the last four ends as spectators cheered on both teams.
Team Hines went into the last end one shot up and holding two at 14-13, but South's last bowl came in with a remarkable shot to move the jack back to Manton's bowls, taking the championship 16-14.
