IT is very obvious from his comments that Mike Archer has no experience of being a caravaner, or he would surely see that towing your van into a park just to use the dump point would at a guess not be very popular with the park owner even if they are charging a fee, and certainly a hassle for the person towing the van.
If a community like Northampton can provide a free dump point and water I really do not know why we cannot do the same.
Having done a little bit more research I was amazed to find that they actually have three dump points in town and another not far out of town, all this in a town with less than 1000 residents.
Although all caravaners are not grey nomads they certainly have a very large input into small towns that they pass through or stay in.
I was also amazed that there was even a dump point at Kookaburra Caravan Park.
Having lived here for 10 years and camped many times before that, I don't recall seeing any signage to that effect.
Let’s get serious about promoting our city and provide something free that will be appreciated by many travellers.
