We were down at the beach at the end of Earnshaw Road, when my nine year old who was playing on a giant inflatable thong suddenly started to float out past his depth range.
The offshore breeze was so strong it only took seconds before he was out of reach and heading deeper by the second.
To my panic I could not catch him and rapidly started to struggle with the swim myself.
Luckily for us a man snorkeling by himself out quite deep past the boat moorings heard our screams for help and rescued my son, towing him back to shore.
Unfortunately, I was in such a state, I only managed to gasp out my thanks before he swam off.
Being a bit panicked, I failed to get his details to thank him further.
So I would like to extend my gratitude and many thanks to “Ron” the snorkeling guy for his help. We are eternally grateful.
