A Toyota Hilux and a Jeep Cherokee were flooded at a beach near Wonnerup on Monday and the images caught and shared on Facebook.
The two recent-model black 4WDs were flooded to roof level as the tide came in at a river mouth at a Wonnerup beach.
An excavator was used to lift the cars out of their watery resting places.
The 'car'-nage was caught on camera and uploaded to Geographe Marine Engineers’ Facebook page on Monday.
Luke Purdy from the company said the drivers had tried to cross the opening.
“We got called to see if we could help,” he said.
“Getting the cars out took less than an hour, the big thing was getting BCP’s excavator down the beach.
“We’ve pulled heaps of cars out of there.
“It’s more common than you would expect and if it’s not cars it’s boats.”
The pictures on Facebook have attracted various of comments from people asking where the location of the destroyed cars was, to comments joking about an advert where a Hilux emerges safely from deep water.
Do you know who the cars belong to?
