BUSSELTON police are warning the community about the risks associated with synthetic LSD as new regulations come into effect over the following weeks.

Synthetic LSD, also known as NBOMes are a potent form of hallucinogenic drug which aim to mimic the effects of LSD and pose a significant threat to the users health and safety.
Police Minister Liza Harvey welcomed the decision of the Federal Justice Minister Michael Keenan to significantly tighten laws for the importation of four types of synthetic LSD.
Mrs Harvey said listing these four types as serious drugs will ensure that penalties including between two years to life imprisonment for those involved in the importation of these substances.
Commonly marketed as Smiles, N-Bomb and Pandora, Senior Sergeant Steve Principe said that these drugs were generally purchased over the internet and people needed to be aware of the high fatality rates associated with them.
“Be very wary of what you’re buying on the internet and taking as there is a high likelihood that people can die from it,” he said.
