VASSE MLA and former WA treasurer Troy Buswell has been charged with 11 traffic offenses which allegedly took place on February 23.
Following a thorough investigation, WA Police confirmed on Tuesday they had charged by summons a 48-year-old male in relation to a series of crashes.
The man allegedly crashed into and caused damage to parked cars on Olive Street and Barker Road as well as a telephone pole.
It is also alleged that he failed to stop at the traffic crashes and failed to report them to the police.
The man has been charged with three counts of failing to stop at a traffic crash, four counts of failing to report a traffic crash and four counts of careless driving.
The matter is expected to be heard in the Perth Magistrates Court on April 29.
Mr Buswell resigned from the Cabinet of the West Australian government on March 10
The reason behind Mr Buswell's decision was in regard to mental health issues he was facing.
Premier Colin Barnett said while he had known for two weeks that Mr Buswell had suffered a "breakdown" and was seeking treatment however he only found out about Mr Buswell crashing his ministerial car the night before taking leave.
