Busselton Jets Junior Rugby Club travelled to Hay Park on Sunday to play the first game after the holidays.
The under-13s recorded their first win of the season over the Bunbury Bulls with a comprehensive 35-10 scoreline.
Hard work and perseverance has finally paid off and the boys played really well.
Dylan Bennistan and Tiarn Paulin were the standout players of the day. Dylan showed the benefits of superior fitness and excellent passing and Tiarn showed the importance of good lineout throws and low and hard tackling.
The under-11s tried hard all day playing a seven a side game against the Barbarian Reds.
Even though they clawed their way back in the second half, they were not strong or fast enough, losing to a better team 7-4.
The under-15 game was a try-fest with the score 44-29 to the Bunbury Bulls.
The Jets played hard and fast all day, levelling the score early in the second half, but had no fresh legs to run out the game and were tired and sore at the end.
Jak Macdonald showed glimpses of magic as he had several good runs down the right wing. Dylan Trolove-Henley played well, scoring a brilliant try, only to leave the field straight after, with a collarbone injury.
Rory O’Keefe and John Crosbie were relentless with their ferocious tackles and searching runs setting up play for both Aaron Macfarlane and Anthony Paul.
