THE Busselton Football Club league coach Greg Hodson will be sacrificing his beloved mullet for a good cause.
At the Magpies last home and away game Mr Hodson mullet will be shaved off in support of cystic fibrosis research.
Until then, you may notice a life size poster of the infamous coach around town.
The Where’s Hoddy campaign asks you to donate money whenever you see the poster and donation tin at local businesses.
The Donnybrook Footbal Club have also got on board the campaign with a donation tin at the club.
The main imputes behind the fundraiser to help Mr Hodson’s daughter Jacqui who has cystic fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition which impacts the health and function of the lungs and pancreas.
Miss Hodson said it was common for people with the condition to need a lung transplant.
She has to take 40 a day as well exercise regularly to make sure her body can stay healthy.
Miss Hodson is also partaking in a medical trial for a drug which takes away all the symptoms that come with the condition.
At the end of the trial it is hoped the government subsidise the medication.
“If the government don’t approve the medication will cost $300,000 a year,” she said.
Miss Hodson said it meant the world to her to see her dad raise money and shave off his mullet for a cause close to her heart.
“He cares a lot about his mullet so it shows how much he loves me to let it go,” she said.
She will be doing the honours of shaving the mullet off which she said she couldn’t wait to do.
