A LOCAL man has been chosen as the state winner of the NAB AFL Auskick Volunteer of the Year Award for Western Australia.
Troy Bennet from the Busselton NAB AFL Auskick Centre was thrilled to be announced as the WA winner of the award.
Mr Bennet is one of seven NAB AFL Auskick Volunteers nation wide to receive the award which recognises their immense commitment to the local Auskick Centre.
It was his dedication, professionalism and organisational ability as a coordinator towards everyone involved at Auskick, in particular the families that saw Mr Bennet receive his nomination.
“It’s such an honour to receive this award and to be part of bringing NAB AFL Auskick to life in our local community,” Mr Bennet said,
“The continued support that NAB provides to make NAB AFL Auskick accessible and affordable for families is just fantastic.”
Mr Bennet hopes that his award encourages many others in the local community to volunteer at their local Auskick centre.
As a part of his award, Mr Bennet has received a trip to Melbourne for two during the qualifying finals where he will enjoy two days of hospitality and a very unique AFL experience.
Over 170, 000 children nation wide every year are ‘Footified’ through AFL Auskick.
