A 28-year-old Huntingdale man will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday over two armed robberies in Kenwick on Sunday.
A 68-year-old man had just finished locking a liquor store on Belmont Road in Kenwick when he was approached by a man allegedly holding a firearm, police spokeswoman Ros Weatherall said.
The armed man told him to hand over money but took off on foot after the employee showed him that he did not have any cash.
A short time later, the man walked into a supermarket on Belmont Road in Kenwick and allegedly pointed the gun at a female staff member, demanding cash.
He fled after allegedly dropping the gun on the counter.
The man has been charged with attempted aggravated armed robbery and armed robbery.
