Kerrin McEvoy got more confidence from her gallop at Sandown on Tuesday. She is now second favourite, which means some punters agree with him.
5 (3). Protectionist $7
The Prix Kergorlay winner is out in betting slightly. His run in the Herbert Power was good and he will have a workout at Werribee in the next couple of days. Cox Plate-winning hoop Ryan Moore is a big plus.

Godolphin's leading hope for breaking its frustrating drought in the Melbourne Cup. They have got here in one piece, but he has drifted from $17 to $21 in the past couple of days.
7 (6). Mutual Regard $10
Trainer Johnny Murtagh was all smiles when he saw his charge. Damien Oliver to ride looking for a fourth Melbourne Cup, but he is probably well found in betting at $10.
8 (10). My Ambivalent $41
Has been cleared to run after the vet checks on Thursday. She has form around some of the best horses in the world and if she runs two miles she will be in the finish.
9 (8). Lord Van Percy $34
Needs to win the Lexus to get into the Cup and if he does the $34 will not be around. He has shortened in the past couple of days from $41.
10 (9). Araldo $21
Michael Moroney is rolling the dice with his stayer, which is 23rd in the order of entry. "I just hope two don't jump us on Saturday because he is ready to go," he said.
