DANE Ugle has scored the first hundred of the Wylie Cup season after he helped Warnbro easily take care of Mandurah at Warnbro Turf.
Mandurah were sent into bat and were bowled out for just 69 off 32 overs.
Keren Ugle and Dane Ugle took three wickets each while Marcus Bell bowled five maidens form his eight overs and finished with one wicket for five runs.
Dane Ugle then followed his superb bowling performance with the ball and cracked 125, which featured 13 fours and four sixes.
Rory Hood (53) and Dane Ugle combined for a 146-run partnership in the middle order with only Marcus Bell scoring more than 10.
Matthew Jenkinson and Paul Okey each took three wickets for Mandurah, but it was not enough to lift them off the bottom of the ladder.
The ton from Ugle is the highest score of the season so far, eclipsing Halls Head all-rounder Andrew Tatterson’s 94 in round one of the season.
Singleton Irwinians and Pinjarra played out the second tie of the season at Pinjarra Turf on Saturday.
Pinjarra won the toss and sent Singleton Irwinians in and eventually were all out for 135 off 46.2.
Opener Ian Jack top scored with 48 not out, carrying his bat throughout the whole innings.
He got some support from Daniel Jones who compiled 34.
Boyd Colgan, Joseph Slade and Ryan Pack all took three wickets to for Pinjarra.
Pinjarra looked in control at 0/78 with Lee (42) and Pack (40) going along nicely, until Robert Mclean (4/19) unleashed a devastating spell to put them on the back foot.
Joel Humble scored his highest score of the season with 31 not out, but Pinjarra could not eclipse the target, finishing on 9/135 off their 50 overs.
At Settelers Turf, a five-wicket haul by Jacob Hodson led Halls Head to victory over White Knights Baldivis.
Baldivis sent Halls Head into bat where they scored 9/166.
Mitch Brown also snared a five-wicket haul claiming 5/8 with two maidens.
Blair Cartwright made 38 not out for Halls Head.
Baldivis could only manage 106 in reply with Hodson finishing with 5/27.
Bradley Raath provided the only resistance with his highest score of the season after making 41.
After falling to 4/33 South Mandurah was able to regroup against Waroona to end their innings all out for 202.
Brad Holmes led the way for South Mandurah with 60 and was well supported by Jesse Buck with 52.
Nic Rep picked up a hattrick for Waroona ending with the figures of 3/15 from 4.5 overs.
Ben Wright and Adam Clancy also picked up three wickets for Waroona.
In reply Waroona were unable to chase down South Mandurah’s total ending their innings 9/149.
Wright led the way for Waroona with a well-made 43.
Mitch Holmes did the damage with the ball for South Mandurah picking up 3/19 off five overs.
South Mandurah is now three wins clear on top of the ladder while Waroona sit in eighth position with two wins.
Shoalwater Bay slumped to their third consecutive loss after posting just 71 against the lowly Hillman.
Shane Bliss did the damage with the ball for Hillman in his first A grade match picking up 4/27 off 10 overs.
Hillman opener Christopher Thomson almost single-handely defeated Shoalwater with a well-made 69.
He was well supported by Phil Green (52) with Hillman finishing their innings on 9/205.
Joel Ritchie was the pick of the Shoalwater bowlers with 4/34 off eight overs.
Next week Shoalwater will look to bounce back against Halls Head, Baldivis play Waroona, South Mandurah come up against Pinjarra, Singleton Irwinians clash with Warnbro and Mandurah take on Hillman.
