A LOVE of travel and of the Australian landscape is present in every brushstroke in the latest exhibition at wills Domain.
A series of watercolours from Sue Cross adorn the walls of the gallery, bringing with it a sense of home.
Born in the South West of England, Cross began drawing from a young age, turning this passion into a career in horticulture, cartography and landscape architecture.
Her creative nature was rekindled after migrating to Australia where she began to explore a creation of botanical work, aptly seen in her ‘Sunnyside II’ work with sunflowers.
The eye is drawn to Cross’s work through its gentle treatment of her surroundings, from the soft reflections of the water and in her creation of a sense of peace.
Regardless of the historical nature of the watercolour style, Cross brings a contemporary mood to medium, making it appeal to all viewers alike.
The exhibition will run through April on the corner of Abbey farm and Brash Road, Yallingup from 11am-4pm.
