A deliberately lit fire is burning on Monday morning near Northcliffe, a town still recovering from a fire in February that Fairfax Media reported burnt more than 95,000 hectares.
The February fire, declared a natural disaster by Western Australian Premier Colin Barnett, was followed by another smaller fire in March.
The Department of Parks and Wildlife has announced on Monday morning the area's third fire in as many months.
The fire, moving slowly in scrub 8 kilometres east-north-east of Northcliffe, is not contained and has burnt about 1 hectare.
Fire crews are on the scene.
DPaW issued an advice stating that there was at present no threat to lives or homes, but that areas were smoky, particularly around Middleton Road.
The fire started north of Middleton Road and west of Big Hill Brook Road and was reported at 10.50am.
