MACKILLOP Catholic College year 7 students were in stitches after a lesson in knitting with volunteers from the Busselton Senior Citizens group.
The student’s spent their lunch time learning how to knit scarves which will be donated to the St Vincent DePaul Winter Appeal.
Mackillop Catholic College’s service learning coordinator Tamara Clark said with perseverance and peer support the students mastered the basics of knitting.
“Many spent their lunch break knitting and chatting long after the ladies had left which was beautiful to see,” she said.
The volunteers will be returning in a few weeks to see how the students went with the challenge and to inspect the scarves before they are donated to St Vincent DePaul.
