YALLINGUP surfer Taj Burrow has been inspired to become an ambassador for the 2015 Chevron City to Surf for Activ event.
With the August event being exclusive to WA, Burrow said it was a pleasure to help out.
The fun run raises money for not for profit organisation Activ which help people with a disability be more involved in the community.
“It’s great to see the race grow from strength to strength and expand to regional locations, Karratha, Geraldton, Busselton and Albany,” he said.
This year Activ has launched the Activ Dreams fundraising campaign, which focuses on how the organisation has been able to help people living with disability to achieve their dreams with the help of the community.
Burrow will join five Activ ambassadors from across the state who are currently being supported by the charity.
“Not all dreams take the world by storm, for some, their dreams for the future are to achieve humble, everyday things that most of us take for granted.
We are in the fortunate position to support our customers every day to pursue their dreams.” Activ chief executive officer Tony Vis said.
“We are thrilled to have an iconic Western Australian such as Taj on board to support our fundraising campaign in the lead up to this year’s Chevron City to Activ.”
Burrow has set up his own fundraising page with the chance to win a signed surfboard to anyone that donates $5.
The Busselton city to surf event will be on Sunday August 16.
