BUSSELTON accommodation places have made it to the Gold List of Australian accommodation places accounting for 40 per cent of all national winners.
The gold list is compiled by Star Ratings Australia from hundreds of travel reviews which uses data software to collect traveller ratings from website in 45 different languages to create one rating.
The South West had 60 per cent of WA’s national Gold List winners which included three accommodation places within the City of Busselton in the top 10.
Bread and breakfast establishments in Busselton were given the highest scores with Baudins of Busselton and Sojourn on Gale both achieving a rating of 9.8 from guests.
Sojourn owners Ann and Ivan Sandler said it was rewarding to know that their guests appreciated what they were doing.
“We like to make our guests feel special and this shows we have achieved that,” Mrs Sandler said.
“People appreciate the little things we do like home cooking, afternoon tea, homemade jams and they can pick their own menu.”
Since running the bed and breakfast Mr and Mrs Sandler said they stayed in similar accommodation when they travelled and had experienced everything from the good to bad.
“We like people to feel they get the best of everything and we know what works and what doesn’t,” Mr Sandler said.
The Forest Rise and Eco Retreat in Yelverton also scored well with a traveller rating of 9.5 from 28 reviews.
