STATE government ministers will hold their Regional Cabinet meeting in Busselton on Monday and will be in the area over the coming week.
Vasse MP Libby Mettam said the Regional Cabinet will provide an opportunity for the community to meet with, and address any issues with the Premier, senior ministers, and government parliamentarians.
Ms Mettam said as the member for Vasse she was pleased to organise the event which will showcase the region to the state ministers.
Since the Premier is also the Minister for Tourism, Ms Mettam said there would be a focus on the industry and the Premier would visit key tourism venues and host a forum with industry leaders.
“He will hear firsthand the issues facing this vital and ever-growing industry,” she said.
In addition to tourism, Ms Mettam said there would be a focus on food and wine exports, community space, education and health care.
“This includes meetings with the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry, local government, the Southwest Development Commission and the Warden Aboriginal Centre,” she said.
“Under the Barnett Government the Vasse region has continued to grow and prosper, becoming not only the fastest growing region in the State, but one of the fastest growing regional centres in the country.
“Which is why the state government is keen to hear from the Vasse community on how to ensure their future interests are best met.”
