SHARING great stories is the theme for this year’s Books by the Bay, a cultural event being offered by the City of Busselton this July.
The weekend event is sure to delight book lovers which includes an opportunity to meet all authors at a gathering at the Busselton Library.
All the authors are from WA, highlighting local talent and providing readers a chance to listen to the writer’s passion about life and books.
The multi-award winning author Joan London who won the Prime Minister’s Award for Literary Fiction in 2015 for her Perth based novel The Golden Age and was named a State Living Treasure by the WA Government will be a special guest at the festival.
Her book Gilgamesh starts off in and around Yallingup and Caves House, so readers will easily be swept into the story as it unfolds and travels overseas at a time of unrest.
While the audience devours a three course dinner at Wyndham Resort and Spa Dunsborough, Joan will read a passage from one of her books which will be followed by a question and answer session with Shelley Gare, an award winning journalist.
The two will then be joined by authors Amanda Curtin, Stephen Daisley and Fiona Palmer for a panel discussion.
The event occurs on July 22 and 23 July with three other events including Snippets at the Busselton Library, Lunch by the Bay at Pullman Bunker Bay Resort and a three course dinner at Wyndham Resort and Spa.
