BUSSELTON Water has invited community groups in need of a helping hand to apply for a grant under its new Community Partnership Program.
The program – which is open to all volunteer groups, not-for-profit community organisations, social enterprises, clubs and schools in the Busselton area – will offer grants to boost or kick-start initiatives.
Busselton Water chief executive officer Chris Elliott said the program was aimed at providing support for grassroots projects in the region.
“Schools, clubs and associations are firmly at the heart of our communities and we are looking forward to actively supporting their work,” he said.
“Busselton Water has supported some of the bigger community events like the Busselton Jetty swim, and we are now extending our commitment to lend a hand to some smaller organisations and initiatives.”
Organisations undertaking projects in the areas of water quality, environmental sustainability, education, innovation and leadership are particularly encouraged to apply for the grants before September 23.
Busselton Water has supplied water for 110 years and continues to supply drinking water to a population of more than 26,000 people.
