GOT a burning health-related question, or just want to know more about the types of healthcare on offer in the South West?
Then head along to the very first South West Wellness Expo, organised by the Holistic Health Practitioner Network.
More than 40 health practitioner stalls will be set up along the western end of Queen Street from 9am-3pm on October 30.
One of the event’s organisers, Dr Sarah Moore, said the SW Wellness Expo was a unique opportunity for the general public to come and meet a range of holistic health practitioners and talk to them about the services they offer and how they might be able to assist them with optimising their health and wellbeing.
“There will be free workshops where people can try yoga, mindfulness, tai chi, dance and doodle art to see if these might be activities they would like to integrate into their lifestyle,” she said.
“Finally, the panel discussions promise to be educational and inspiring to those wanting to find out more about the importance of Gut health, the Mind-Body connection and the power of Social Connectedness for achieving great health."
Nutritionist Sally Gray said most people do not realise the vast array of ‘Wellness’ practices that exist in the South West area.
“This event will be an eye opener and inspire the action needed to create a life be design rather than living by default, always is reaction mode,” she said.
“People can come along and enjoy this modern, collaborative approach to health where doctors and complementary health care practitioners are working side by side to achieve optimal outcomes for our community.”
All are welcome to the free expo, including children, with a bouncy castle and face painting set up especially for them.
Residents are also reminded that Queen Street (between Adelaide Street and Marine Terrace) will be closed from 6am to 5pm for the event.
