THE Naturaliste Game and Sport Fishing Club in Busselton held a Dash for Cash competition on Sunday targeting squid and whiting.
The weekend produced beautiful weather for the monthly competition which began with a barbecue breakfast of sausages, bacon and eggs.
The fisherman had their lines in the water at 8am, and the Naturaliste Game and Sport Fishing Club president Graham Morris said it was great to see old and new members with families of all ages participating in the event.
While the juniours did not catch any whiting they pulled in a big catch of squid, in first place was Zane Mattaboni, followed by Cody Langridge and Tarlia Mattaboni in third.
In the seniors, Michael Gibson reeled in the biggest whiting, folllowed by Troy Docking and Justin Docking in third place.
The biggest squid in the senior’s category was caught by club member Moyi Conway, followed by Michael Gibson and Barry Conway in third place.
The next competition will be held on the weekend of November 19 and 20, the event will be a land based competition.
Prizes will be awarded for the largest mixed bag of fish in seniors and juniours.
